Becoming a Mother is Sacred

It’s miraculous, in fact. But for one reason or another, our culture doesn’t celebrate it as that. It’s simply a part of the feminine experience in a masculine world. There’s a set of straightforward steps to follow, an emergent, yet routine medical procedure, and then the baby is born.

But what if it didn’t have to be that way for you?

If you’re reading this then I know you’re curious about an alternative approach. You’re craving something more meaningful, more natural and that’s what you deserve.

Yet, getting from where you are now to your beautiful vision of blissful pregnancy, birth, and new motherhood may seem foggy or even impossible. There’s so much information to sift through, so many conflicting views, and so many important decisions to make.

Well, you can know this for certain: it’s your birthright as a woman to fully embrace (and love!) the power you have to create another human being. You deserve to clarify and live your vision. You deserve to feel joyful, confident, and strong as you bring this baby into the world and thus raising him or her from this state.

It doesn’t have to be overwhelming.
It doesn’t have to be excruciating.
And it doesn’t have to be scary.

You can feel deeply empowered—a.k.a. “I am woman, hear me roar.”

You can harness an inner strength that you never knew was there. And you can feel 100% confident in your natural ability to do this.

I know because this is the kind of pregnancy, birth experience, and beginning of motherhood that I intentionally created for myself.

Finding out that I was pregnant was a surprise, and to be completely honest, I was freaked out. The fear of the pain and the unknown was terrifying. As was the seemingly endless stream of questions I wasn’t sure how to answer.

What should I eat?
No wine for how many months?!
Will my husband still think I’m sexy?
Will I get my body back?
How much will life actually change with a baby?

Being the innately curious person I am, I started researching everything I could in order to wrap my head around this whole process. I watched The Business of Being Born and decided to go the midwife route. And I practiced impeccable self-care on a daily basis—from mindset work, to emotional-release baths, to my visualization exercises about labor, to my daily yoga practice. All of this and more allowed me to clear away self-doubt and blockages so that I could feel a sense of complete trust in my body.

Enjoying the calm between surges with my amazing partner.

And you know what? Every single minute of it paid off. Because I had the labor and birth experience I dreamed about. I had a moment at the birth center that I’ll never forget. I just found out that I was fully dilated (the hard part was over) and my favorite song, Across the Universe played on my iPod.

I was filled with so much joy, awe, and appreciation.

But above all, I was so amazed by my body and beyond proud of my inner strength.

Before long, our son was born in the tub, bright-eyed and bushy tailed. I instantly fell madly in love with this little human. And I was on cloud nine about how strong yet humble I felt through every minute of it. I wished all women could experience the same strength and grace.

So here I am, ready to coach you through this transformational time in your life. Whether you’re newly pregnant or you just gave birth and need support, consider me your partner in powerfully creating your new reality.
